
Mayor, Cllr Claire Head congratulates Howard Warwick Associates - Winner of the Best Employer Award 2011
Way to Work held its annual celebration event on 26th May 2011 where the Mayor, Cllr Claire Head along with Cllr’s Fleming and Percival handed out apprentice and employer awards.
The ceremony was held in York House in Twickenham and recognised the achievements of over 50 young people who have found jobs through the Councils’ Way to Work programme in the last year; as well as the businesses that have employed them.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the event, all our young apprentices, the nominees and winners are a credit to us and it would not have been possible to do it without them.

Now we come to the winners!
Howard Warwick Associates (HWA) in Twickenham was declared the borough’s ‘The Best Employer Award’ they were praised for the continued support they have given us over the last 15 years. HWA have recruited and supported over 15 apprentices through Way to Work, with the vast majority achieving their apprenticeships.
19 year old Navdeep Singh, was also successful and in doing so, claimed the title ‘Way to Work Apprentice of the Year.’ Navdeep has been working at Heathfield Children’s Centre since 2009 and currently completing his Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration.

Mayor Cllr Head, said: “My congratulations go to the young people. I hope that their roles have inspired them to continue developing their careers.” “The Way to Work team has been hugely successful in the last decade. I would encourage any businesses or young people interested to get in touch.”
Overall this was a successful day for everyone involved and shows just what can be achieved when the right guidance and support is given.
