Pay: £150 per week with six-monthly pay reviews

Qualification: NVQ Level 2 Business Administration  

Duration: Full-time 12 Month contract

Employer Description: Housing Association

Hours of Work: 9.00 to 5.15 (Mon – Fri) with 1 hour for lunch

Annual Holiday Entitlement: 25 days paid holiday per year plus statutory days

Age: 16 +


Job Description:

Providing support to a small team:

  • To provide general administrative support to the team
  • Sorting, distributing and franking all incoming, outgoing & internal post
  • Answering phones, taking messages, responding to general queries from a variety of different customer groups & eventually giving information advice and guidance as appropriate
  • Filing, faxing, photocopying, e-mailing, shredding & scanning
  • Inputting data onto a bespoke database
  • Ordering and monitoring stationery supplies for the team
  • Learning to manage the completion and return of statutory information
  • Updating standard letters and documents using MS Office systems
  • To issue and keep accurate financial records of gift vouchers
  • Prepare standard invoices for payment and record budget commitments

An ability to complete a complex & demanding learning programme with external examinations is a requirement for Way to Work vacancies


Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Good communication skills with clear spoken English
  • Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with personal & telephone callers
  • Accurate I.T skills & knowledge of Word, Excel & Access
  • Able to work flexibly within a team asking for & giving support as needed
  • Able to use own initiative & learn to prioritise own workload
  • Able to follow procedures & learn to work to deadlines in a busy & often pressurised environment
  • Able to understand & respect the importance of confidentiality, both within & outside the workplace
  • Aware of health & safety and equality & diversity
  • Able to understand the importance of being punctual & the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team
